Learning Through Doing
I used to equate preparation with collecting frameworks. The faster pace of platform work forced me to shift. The teams that shipped the best work were the ones that designed hard reps into their process.
The Practice Loop
- Pick the uncomfortable version of the task. If the challenge feels automatic, it is not a rep.
- Work in public with the team. Narrate decisions, risks, and unknowns. It reduces ambiguity and multiplies learning.
- Review with brutal specificity. We ask: what was the decision, what signal did we miss, how do we close that gap next time?
- Codify into playbooks only after repetition. Once a move works three times in different contexts, we write it down. Not before.
Quality Is Multivariate
Shipping fast is useful, but the work is not done until the experience hits functional, visual, performance, and security bars. We borrow a technique from post-mortems: we grade each dimension separately so that "it works" never hides weak spots.
What Changed For Me
The more I lean into difficult practice, the calmer high-stakes launches feel. Confidence comes from evidence. Evidence comes from iteration in real contexts—not from another deck of frameworks.
